Introduction

Library Work in Kids World- Oral comprehension ie, conversation between a teacher and a student. Note that every conversation should start with a rhyme, preferably one related to the lesson to be taught.

By the end of this lesson, You should have a fair idea about the following topics:

  • Letter Names
  • Letter Sounds
  • Patterns
  • Story Telling

    Read a story book in bits... But before that sing rhymes with the kids.

  • Explain what is read.
  • Ask simple picture related questions.
  • Summarize the lesson.
  • Picture Reading

    Have a conversation with the kids about the picture in use.

  • Ask tactful questions to bring main points out.
  • Letter Names

    Teach the children names of the alphabet.

    You can use any of these methods :

  • Pick and run.
  • Letter Hunting.
  • Displaying of letters.
  • Letter Sounds

    Teach the children the sound of each alphabet.

    You can use any of these methods :

  • Songs related to the sounds.
  • Methods outlined in Letter names.
  • Patterns

    Explain what it means with examples. After, test the child's understanding.

  • Mix patterns and allow the child to choose the right option.
  • Scribbling

    Allow the child to free sketch/ scribble.
